Dr. Maria A. Osipova

Dr. Maria Osipova is board certified Breast and General Surgeon and has been in practice for over 10 years. Dr. Maria Osipova currently practices at Osipova Surgical Services and sees patients for hormone health and medical weight loss services at Xsculpt. Taking care of women with breast disease, both malignant and benign, her focus was on the influence of hormones on the breast tissue.

More recently, Dr. Maria Osipova wanted to expand her practice to women’s health optimization as she learned more about the benefits of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and experienced it as a patient herself.

After completing her medical education at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and her training in General Surgery at the Metro Group Hospitals in Chicago, her professional interest in Surgical Critical Care led her to pursue a fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Dr. Osipova began practicing General Surgery in 2013 and quickly learned that, as a female surgeon, she attracted a large population of female patients. To provide comprehensive surgical care, she advanced her training and expertise in breast surgery.

Dr. Maria Osipova is now a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and certified in Oncoplastic (Hidden Scar) Breast Surgery. As the research continues to offer new developments in the field of Breast and General Surgery, she updates her practice to reflect the current standards of care. Disease prevention has received a significant amount of attention in Surgical literature recently, with major benefits attributed to healthy lifestyle and weight management.

Dr. Maria Osipova feels that her background in surgical breast oncology helps her see this shift in paradigm from disease treatment to disease prevention in a well-rounded manner, balancing both the risks and the benefits of the effects of hormones on our bodies.
