Gynecomastia and Exercise: Will it help get rid of gynecomastia?
It depends. If you have pseudogynecomastia, which is composed of fat, diet and exercise can help reduce the appearance of gynecomastia “man boobs”. However, if you have significant true gynecomastia with enlarged breast glands, then enlarging the pectoral muscles may actually accentuate the problem, making it appear worse.
In these cases, the most effective way to get rid of gynecomastia is by surgical removal of the breast gland by a trained gynecomastia surgeon.
Exercise can help reduce the appearance of pseudo gynecomastia
If you have pseudogynecomastia, the best way to minimize man-boobs is to maintain a healthy weight and to stay in shape. To avoid true gynecomastia, you should avoid illicit steroid and drug use, and avoid ingesting foods or medications that could elevate your estrogen levels or cause hormonal imbalance. However, since most cases of gynecomastia are idiopathic of unknown cause, man-boobs can happen to anyone, even the healthiest and most in-shape men.
A qualified surgeon is the way to go to fully remove the gland which causes the puffy appearance of your breasts. I have a mild enough case of gynecomastia that I have avoided this option. By maintaining a relatively healthy lifestyle and reasonable body fat, as well as developing my chest quite a bit in the gym, I have achieved an aesthetic that I am okay with. If I had the more severe cases I have seen others experience online, I think I would do the same thing I have done, but combine it with surgery so that my hard work wouldn’t pronounce the appearance of a more severe form of gynecomastia.
In summary, You have to have pseudogynecomastia, its composed of mostly fat and no breast gland is present. True gynecomastia is when you have a breast gland. It is possible to have true and pseudogynecomastia at the same time.
The best way to determine the type of gynecomastia you have is to consult with a doctor.
